Foodland retailers, suppliers and support teams recently gathered in Phuket for the 2026 Foodland Supermarkets Conference, reinforcing the strength of South Australia’s independent supermarket network.
The conference provided an opportunity for delegates to hear directly from Foodland’s leadership team, including updates on brand investment, marketing, merchandise and strategic priorities for the year ahead. Attendees also gained valuable insights into the broader independent retail landscape, with an industry update from National Retail Council Chair and joint Director of Romeo’s Retail Group, Joseph Romeo.
A highlight of the conference was a panel discussion featuring both suppliers and retailers, who shared perspectives on collaboration, innovation and opportunities to strengthen the independent supermarket sector.
Beyond the formal program, the event provided valuable networking opportunities, enabling retailers, suppliers and industry partners to build relationships, exchange ideas and celebrate the strong community that continues to underpin the Foodland brand.
Foodland remains proudly South Australian, with more than 90 stores independently owned and operated by over 30 family groups across the state.
