Master Grocers Australia is a core division of MGA Independent Businesses Australia, proudly representing independent grocery store owners and operators across the country.
With a legacy spanning over 120 years, we champion the interests of small business owners, whether single-store or multi-store operators, who run supermarkets and convenience stores that are the backbone of their communities.
Through advocacy, support, and industry engagement, we work to ensure a fair, competitive environment where independent grocers can thrive.

Grocery and Supermarkets Australia:
- Understands the needs, wants, threats, and opportunities of the supermarket business.
- Seeks to protect members trading efficiently and sustainably.
- Represents the interests of independent supermarket owners at local, state, and federal levels.
Independents have a unique role, keeping money and jobs within the local community. Individual owners can choose what they stock, offering a good local selection for consumers.
Supermarkets and grocery stores retail a range of groceries and food products, including fruit and vegetables, bread, cigarettes, canned goods, toiletries, dairy goods, delicatessen items, and cleaning goods.
