Wymer also supported facial recognition technology as a deterrent, though offenders often find ways to evade detection.
The interview underscored MGA’s call for tougher laws and consistent enforcement, including the Premier’s proposed “right to change” legislation, to ensure offenders face real consequences. Wymer stressed that retail workers—once hailed as heroes during COVID—are now abused daily, with little government backing, and urged unified action to protect staff and businesses.
